Welcome to Cromer!
Our town
is famous
for many
reasons. It is a delightful holiday
location
often
described
as the "Gem of the Norfolk Coast". It has a
beautiful
sandy
beach and
a famous award winning pier. It is also
home to a
major east
coast
Lifeboat.
A recent £3 million pound investment programme
by the RNLI has
made our
Lifeboat
station in
Cromer one of the most up to date
stations
in the
country
and has put our crew at the cutting edge of
lifesaving
technology.
We are
justifiably proud of our lifeboat and
her crew.
Since the
inception
of the service in Cromer over 900
lives have
been
saved.
This lifesaving service, rendered so
sacrificially,
results
from the
fact that there are people who need
to be
saved and
we have
the means whereby they can be saved.
Just a slight acquaintance with history and some knowledge of
daily news
will tell
us that
these facts are true in society as a
whole.
Gods
verdict on
the whole human race is that "all have sinned
and come
short of
the glory
of God". Sin is a failure to obey God
and to
keep His
commandments.
Our lifeboat crew is here to save lives, they hate the idea of
anyone
being
lost. God
describes our state in sin as being LOST, yet
the Bible
shows us
how we can
be SAVED. Jesus Christ came to earth
nearly two
thousand
years ago
to "save sinners". One of his Apostles
said to a
man about
to commit
suicide "believe on the Lord Jesus
Christ and
you will
be saved".
The initials RNLI spell salvation for persons in danger at sea.
Jesus
spells
SALVATION
for all who confess their sin and seek his
mercy.
Saved by
the Cromer
Lifeboat, over 900 persons can claim
that.
Saved by
the Lord
Jesus Christ is true for millions worldwide
and
throughout
time.
